Nothing New Under the Sun

What is there to write about
when every thought has already been thought,
every feeling already felt,
every word spoken before?
Nothing new under the sun.
So why bother to say anything at all?
Perhaps inevitable, we speak because all of this is new to us right now.
Because our bodies haven’t carried life in this way before.
Because old songs find us again
and they resonate with us like we were hearing for the very first time.
“Don’t worry about a thing…”
Marley’s melody vibrating in rhythm with the steady beat within my chest.
Three little birds ministering.
Heart healing.
Soul dancing.
Energy doesn’t vanish.
It circles back.
It returns in other shapes.
It whispers,
Perhaps it's time to see this with new eyes?
Maybe this is what it means to be alive.
Not to invent something new,
but to notice what has always been,
to name it again,
to let it land fresh in this moment like an old favorite song.
And I ask again…
Who are we without one another?
I still do not know.
But I am here, listening.
