Master Myself: The Journey Back to Authenticity

Updated: 4 days ago
Mastering myself through authenticity and self forgiveness begins with seeing who I am before the world tells me who I should be.

I must meet myself without the noise of others
To understand ourselves, we must look beneath the interests, fears, beliefs and expectations of the people around us. This is not to reject their love or their lessons, it is simply to stop confusing their comfort with our true identity.
Many people grow up adapting and contorting themselves. We learn to read the room before we learn to read ourselves. We become skilled at sensing what others can handle. We may hide our imagination, anger, sensitivity, boldness, softness or truth because someone once showed us it was too much. Over time, the hidden parts do not disappear. They wait. They speak through exhaustion, resentment, envy, anxiety, longing or the feeling that something is missing even when life appears fine.
To meet ourselves honestly, we can ask the following:
What do I believe when no one is watching?
What do I want before mind begins to tell me why I should not want it?
When do I feel most alive, calm, clear or free?
Which parts of me did I silence to stay connected to others or to be accepted?
These questions can feel alarming because they reveal how long we have been performing. And still, the alarm is not our warning to turn back… it is the sound of the inner self beginning to wake up.
Movement through moments, soon memories.
Let us paint an image of what we desire with our words. Our words are magic...they move… they transfer energy through our intention.
I desire an experience that is fulfilling. I desire closeness to those whom I love and a connection with people that moves mountains…A love that withstands all manner of things.
I accept all people completely, including myself. I am reassured by my thoughts, emotions and by my expression of life. I am surrounded by a quilt of love, pieced together with the insights given to me by all those I have encountered along the way.
I am grateful to experience life. I am grateful to provide for those I love and also those who follow after we are gone. I am grateful to teach, build, collaborate and co-create. I am grateful to give and receive love.
The work I do is meaningful and inspiring. I am moving in rhythm with the planet and the universe. I am kind, generous, loving and creative. I am a world changer, a revolutionary, an artist, a writer and a friend to all.
Returning to myself
I am kind beyond measure.
I have compassion for others.
I am the definition of strength in action.
I am consistent in setting boundaries.
I am balanced in all areas of my life.
My body is the temple of me.
My body is honored in each moment.
I can trust myself to take care of all of my needs.
I am disciplined in all aspects of my experience.
My presence brings a sense of peace and calm.
Others can be themselves around me.
I express myself fully, regardless of who I’m with.
I forgive those who have harmed me and I forgive myself for the ways I’ve harmed myself.
I am at ease within myself and in my body.
I am a reflection of life and love.
I am beautiful, youthful and swimming in grace.
Abundant joy and prosperity are my portion.
